Do you want to test how badly you want to achieve your goals? Same.
Here’s a downscaled version of that struggle to show us how in control we are:
Before the test, you need to agree that discipline and self-control are very important factors when it comes to success (however you personally define it). And in obtaining these qualities, we can effectively start living out our dreams. Agreed? Let’s begin:
I need you to find a song you REALLY like. You know, one of those songs you hear on the radio that you immediately need to find the name of. One of those songs that you will eventually play 1,000 times and get sick of in one day.
Okay, I challenge you to listen to it, only once every six hours after hearing it for the first time.
My current song: Post Malone – Rockstar
Why? Well, let’s just say I’m currently taking the challenge and after six hours, I decided to write this post, against my blogging schedule. That song that you love, has the power to motivate you for as long as you let it.
I want you to contain its power and unleash that power once every six hours. You’d be pleasantly surprised how much better it sounds now that you haven’t played it 1,000 times a minute and how much it still motivates you.
If you want a greater challenge, increase that window to 12 hours or 1 day. The longer the period without the song, the more motivating the song is.
If you’re like me, willing to do anything it takes then you’re golden. But you’ll find this really tests you and it’s not easy as it sounds. You’ll be placed in a constant struggle between your wants and your needs (such is life). You want to dance to the song and play it a thousand times, but you need its motivating power to achieve your goals.
Have self-control, be disciplined and start achieving your goals
Finally, I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a huge thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my posts.
I will continue on my road to success with you by my side.
