No.1 reason your “New Year New Me” plans don’t work~

You’re a bodybuilder running in a 10K.

You’re a meat eater, turning vegan.

You’re going from drinking 1 cup of water to 1 gallon daily.

You’ve lived in South Africa your whole life and you’re moving to Alaska.

See the trend?

Don’t fret, it’s been my trend too. But how can we fix it?

If you’re a bodybuilder, don’t start with a 10K. Start with a 1K.

If you’re a meat eater, don’t remove meat entirely. Lower your portions.

If you drink one cup of water a day, don’t try a gallon. Drink two cups.

If you’re living in South Africa – okay I’ll admit that’s a weird example.

So tomorrow morning, think to yourself:

“Do I want this year different by setting small goals and achieving them? Or setting big goals and getting nowhere?”

You have a fresh start, a clean slate, a new beginning. Whatever’s happened, happened. That year is over. 2018 is here.

My big goal: One drawing a day.

What I’ll do: One drawing a week.

Make tomorrow page 1. Not page 7,301.

Happy New Year!

  1. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions as I think they are pretty pointless. If you have a goal it doesn’t matter whether it’s January 1st, June 1st or October 31st. All that matters is you start. That’s also why I stopped the “I’ll start on Monday” scenarios. If I’m going to start anything, then why does it have to be the beginning of the week? Why not just start now?
